M2T (MPEG-2 Transport Stream) is a video file format mainly used in digital video broadcasts (DVBs) and Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) standards. Initially, it was developed for satellite and terrestrial broadcasts. Today, it’s common in most HD camcorders, and the video is stored in DV and MiniDV tapes. It supports resolutions of up to 1080x720.
