M2T (MPEG-2 Transport Stream) is a video file format mainly used in digital video broadcasts (DVBs) and Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) standards. Initially, it was developed for satellite and terrestrial broadcasts. Today, it’s common in most HD camcorders, and the video is stored in DV and MiniDV tapes. It supports resolutions of up to 1080x720.

DV (Digital Video) is a file created using a digital format and saved as raw data. A DV file contains 80-byte DIFs (Digital Interface Blocks), with each block having video, audio, and metadata. DVD files use lossy compression for videos, while sounds stay uncompressed. And although it was originally meant for tape recording, DV can also save data on hard disc drives and optical discs.
